BVHS to host “Allergy, Asthma and Lung Health” presentation
Blanchard Valley Health System is to host a presentation titled “Allergy, Asthma & Lung Health” September 12 at noon in the Marathon Auditorium of Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay.
Part of BVHS’ “Live and Learn” series, the presentation is meant to educate the community about allergens that affect the lungs and asthma triggers and symptoms, a release from BVHS states.
Dr. Maria Slack and Dr. Amber Patterson, physicians at ENT & Allergy Specialists of Northwest Ohio, are to make up the panel that will lead the presentation September 12, the release states. Dr. Clara Rimmer, a physician at Pulmonary Critical Care, is to moderate the panel discussion.
Drs. Slack and Patterson provide pulmonary care at ENT & Allergy Specialists of Northwest Ohio and diagnose and treat a range of ear, nose and throat conditions in adults and children, the release states.
A boxed lunch is to be provided during the event, it states.

SCPD board meets Tuesday in Green Springs
Seneca County Park District’s board is to meet for its regular meeting at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Green Springs Village Council Room.
The board is planning to tour Green Springs community park during the meeting.
Motors ‘n’ Music Car Show and Road Rally
Reineke Family Dealerships is to host the 2nd annual Motors ‘n’ Music Car Show and Road Rally Aug. 24 from 3-7 p.m. at the East Tower, 109 Jefferson St.
The car show is to run from 3-7 p.m. and an optional road rally will begin at 4:30 p.m., giving show participants an opportunity to drive through the city and nearby countryside, a release from Reineke Family Dealerships states.
Trophies will be awarded near the end of the show, and an evening concert will begin at 8 p.m. at the nearby Frost-Kalnow Amphitheater, 155 E. Market St., featuring Detroit band The New Day Collective, it states.
There are also to be raffles throughout the afternoon and food provided by Tiffin’s The Empire at 138 Restaurant, it states.
Registration can be completed before the day of the event for $10, the release states. Registration begins at 2 p.m. on the day of the show and will cost $15 that day.
According to the release, all proceeds from the event are to benefit the East Green Summer Concert Series and the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library.

Jewelry, gem and mineral show
The Toledo Gem and Rockhound Club will host its 48th annual Jewelry, Gem and Mineral Show Sept. 6-8 at the Stranahan Theater Complex, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo.
Hours for the show are 2-8 p.m. Sept. 6; 10-6 p.m. Sept. 7; and 11-5 p.m. Sept. 8, according to a release from the Toledo Gem and Rockhound Club.
The show is to feature dealers from around the country offering finished jewelry, beads, gem trees, faceted stones, minerals, fossils, cabochons, tools, carvings and more, the release states.
Members of the club are to exhibit their craft and collections and special exhibits furnished by local universities will also be on display, it states.
The club is to demonstrate various lapidary techniques during the show, such as faceting, beading, metalsmithing and the making of cabochons, it states.
The club is to also sponsor a scholarship raffle at the event that is to support University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University students, it states.
