BASCOM — Two people were transported by Life Flight after an accident on SR 18 Saturday morning.

Deputy Chris Weimerskirch of Seneca County Sheriff’s Office said Thomas Wagner, 64, of Fostoria, was driving a Chevrolet Cruze east.

Janet Herzog, 56, of Tiffin, was driving an Explorer west, and Weimerskirch said she turned in front of Wagner and into the driveway of Bascom Carry-Out, 5890 W. SR 18.

Two passengers in Wagner’s vehicle were transported by Life Flight, and Weimerskirch said he believed they were taken to Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center. A third passenger in Wagner’s vehicle also was taken to a hospital.

Their identities were not available.

Wagner was not hurt, and Herzog went by personal vehicle to Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital, Weimerskirch said.

Everyone involved in the accident was wearing seatbelts, and Herzog was cited with failure to yield while making a left turn, he said.

Personnel from Bascom EMS, Bascom Joint Fire District, NBS EMS District, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, the county’s Echo unit and John’s Welding & Towing assisted.

The accident was reported about 11:10 a.m.
