Life Flight transports one after CR 11 accident

A Fostoria man was taken by Life Flight to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center from the scene of a motorcycle accident on CR 11 Saturday afternoon. Charles Hoffbauer, 38, of Fostoria, was driving westbound on CR 11 on a black 2006 Kawasaki sport motorcycle when he drove off the right side of the road and hit a pole, said Trooper Richard Donovan of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol. Bascom EMS responded to the call at 2:18 p.m. Saturday. Life Flight was called and transported Hoffbauer to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center, Donovan said. Hoffbauer's condition was unavailable Sunday. A helmet was found on the scene, but it was unable to be determined whether Hoffbauer had been wearing it at the time of the accident or if it had just been with the motorcycle, Donovan said. State Highway Patrol is unsure of any impairments or any road or weather conditions that could have contributed to the cause of the accident, Donovan said Sunday. Bascom Joint Fire District and the Echo unit assisted at the scene.
