Mohawk BOE special meeting to complete employment and financial matters
SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Board of Education held a special meeting Monday evening in order to complete employment of teachers and end-of-year financial matters.
Marissa Bott and Lauren McKinniss were each hired as integrated preschool teachers.
At the June 10 meeting, the board voted to allocate the Rover Pipeline money which totals $875,000 to reducing the debt on the construction of the new school building. Board treasurer Rhonda Feasel said that it was necessary to increase the appropriations in the general fund. This increase is to be earmarked for the Ohio School Facility Grant debt and the Local Initiative debt.
Feasel said “Tomorrow I will use these funds to purchase a CD.” The Sycamore National Bank has offered an advantageous interest rate which will further reduce the school debt.
