FOSTORIA — A Toledo man was flown to ProMedica The Toledo Hospital after being shot Sunday morning.

According to Fostoria Police Department, Amiko McNeal, 45, was transported by Fostoria Fire Division to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital and then was flown to ProMedica The Toledo Hospital.

His condition was unavailable from the hospital Sunday, and Chief Keith Loreno of Fostoria Police Department said he didn’t know the extent of the injuries.

About 9 a.m. Sunday, Fostoria Police Department received a 911 call about an altercation and shots fired in front of 121 W. Fourth St.

Officials believe the shooting took place inside a vehicle that was driven by McNeal, after an altercation between him and another man there, according to the police department.

The Chevrolet car was parked in the street on Fourth Street at Hale Drive.

Information obtained during the investigation and witness statements indicate McNeal traveled from Toledo to Fostoria just before he was involved in the confrontation, according to the police department.

The other man involved, Juan Williams, 31, of Fostoria, had minor injuries from the altercation, according to the police department.

No charges had been filed as of Sunday.

Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Seneca County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

Loreno said the city has few shootings, but it is unfortunate when it does.

“Fortunately, we don’t have that many shootings,” he said.

He said he would rather not have any at all.
