Man sentenced to jail

A Tiffin man admitted he violated the terms of judicial release.

Michael E. Hays, 31, had been terminated from the Participating in the Victory of Transition program. He admitted the violation during a hearing in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley’s courtroom, according to court records.

Kelbley ordered him to serve 24 days, the remainder of his sentence, in Seneca County Jail.

Hays had pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated trafficking in drugs and complicity to aggravated trafficking in drugs, fourth-degree felonies, in 2013, court records state.

Tiffin’s Spectrum office closing June 28

The Spectrum communications office, 90 S. Washington St., is closing June 28, according to a note on the office door.

An employee behind the counter said technicians will continue to work out of the Tiffin office, and customers can visit offices in Fremont and Findlay when needed. Tiffin payment locations are to be at Walmart and Kroger stores.

The address of the Fremont office is 1800 E. State St., and the address of the Findlay office is 205 Crystal Ave.

No information was available on the reason for the office closing. A call to the company’s corporate office in Utah was not returned Wednesday.

Fostoria Farmers’ Market planned Saturday

The next Fostoria Farmers’ Market is to take place Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the corner of Tiffin and Main streets in Fostoria.

The theme of the day is “Dads & Kids,” sponsored by Clouse Construction. The company is to provide games for dads and kids to play together, including a corn hole tournament, garbage can pong and a ball toss. Local businesses have donated more than $1,000 in prizes for winners of the games, according to a release. The games will be available 10 a.m.- noon.

There also will be places for children to make crafts at the Friends of the Library, Brenamen Insurance and United Way of Fostoria booths.

Some of the goods on offer include local strawberries, spring flowers, vegetable starts, kettle corn, homemade jellies, honey products, dog treats and a variety of baked goods and crafts, the release said.

Law, community planning to meet

Tiffin’s Law and Community Planning Committee is to meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the council committee meeting room of City Hall, 51 E. Market St.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss golf cart operations within the city and any other business that may come before the committee.

TCS finance group to meet

Tiffin City Board of Education’s Finance Committee is to meet at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at the administration building, 244 S. Monroe St.

Mohawk board to meet

SYCAMORE — Mohawk Board of Education has scheduled a special board meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the MCI Building, SR 231.

The purpose of the meeting is to consider employment of public employees and an adjustment to final appropriations.

NCA board to meet

The North Central Academy Board has set its board meeting for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the North Central Ohio ESC Tiffin campus, 938 W. Market St.
