Personnel work at the scene of an accident at TR 113 and CR 52 Wednesday evening.

A woman was injured in an accident at TR 113 and CR 52 Wednesday afternoon.

Trooper Allison Young of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Paul Norris, 64, of Tiffin, was traveling south on TR 113 in a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria and was stopped at the stop sign while Alicia Watts, 71, of Tiffin, was traveling north on TR 113 in a 2016 Kia Soul and was also stopped at the stop sign. Melisa Blaser, 57, of Bloomville, was traveling east on CR 52 in a 2008 Dodge Nitro, she said.

Young said Norris failed to yield at the stop sign, he pulled into the intersection and his Ford was struck in the passenger side by the Dodge. Norris’s Ford spun backwards and struck the Kia Soul, she said.

Norris’s Ford and Blaser’s Dodge both went off the southeast side of the intersection and came to a rest in a field, Young said.

Watts was transported by Bascom EMS to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, she said.

Young said Norris was cited with failure to yield at a stop sign.

She said everybody involved was wearing their seatbelts.

The accident was reported at 4:13 p.m. and Bascom EMS, Bascom Joint Fire District, the Echo unit, State Highway Patrol, John’s Welding & Towing, D&D Total Repair and Reinhart Auto Body responded to the scene.
