Man charged after East Market Street accident

A man was charged after an accident on East Market Street Tuesday evening.

Officer Michael Moore of Tiffin Police Department said Harold L. Pence, 46, of Tiffin, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, drug abuse instruments and driving under suspension.

He said Pence was traveling the wrong way on East Market Street in a 2008 Ford Explorer. Moore said Pence’s Ford struck at least three vehicles and then struck a building at 59 E. Market St. before coming to a rest. There was “some damage” to the building, he said.

Moore said Pence was transported by Tiffin Fire Rescue Division to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Pence was wearing a seatbelt, he said.

The accident was reported at 8:22 p.m. and Tiffin Police Department, Tiffin Fire Rescue Division and John’s Welding & Towing responded to the scene.
