One hurt in accident in Bascom
BASCOM — A person was hurt in an accident involving a semi and car on SR 18 at SR 635 Tuesday afternoon.
Trooper Donald Pratt of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said a Subaru Forester was driving west on SR 18.
Clinton C. Carter, 53, of Indiana, was driving an International semi south on SR 635. The semi was trying to make a right turn onto SR 18 and pulled into the car’s path, Pratt said.
The left front corner of the semi struck the right rear corner of the car, he said.
The driver of the car, whose identity was unavailable Tuesday, was taken to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital. Her injuries were not life-threatening, Pratt said.
Carter was not hurt and was going to be cited with failure to yield, he said.
Pratt said seatbelt usage was unknown.
Personnel from Bascom EMS, Bascom Joint Fire District and the county’s Echo unit assisted at the scene.
The accident occurred about 12:45 p.m., and SR 18 was blocked for about 45 minutes.
