A Tiffin man whose Bible was found at the scene was arrested in connection to a report of a possible active home invasion in Eden Township, according to court and sheriff’s office records.

Tiler J. Clinger, 33, was charged with burglary, a second-degree felony, and criminal trespassing, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, according to Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court records.

About 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, a person at 1618 E. US 224 reported a possible active home invasion to Seneca County Sheriff’s Office. It appeared the person ran out the back when deputies arrived, a report states.

According to court records, the homeowner observed Clinger walking down the driveway toward the residence with a flashlight, and a deputy arrived and located him in the driveway with a flashlight. Clinger admitted he watched the residence and occupants for more than an hour and covered his head with a hood to conceal his identity, they state.

He is accused of allegedly, by force, entering the residence at 1618 E. US 224 to commit a theft offense, according to court records.

Clinger’s Bible, which had his name written inside, was located at the broken basement window, the point of entry, and Clinger had a flashlight from inside the residence, court records state.
