Man struck by camper trailer door sues driver, insurance companies
A Tiffin man struck by a camper trailer door is suing an Arizona man and two insurance companies.
The lawsuit was filed in Seneca County Common Pleas Court on behalf of David G. Sauber against David L. Gede of Arizona, Westfield Insurance Co. and Cincinnati Insurance Co.
The lawsuit alleges Sauber, who was working with M&B Asphalt Co. Inc., was standing in the road doing berm work on freshly laid asphalt on SR 162, near Republic, Sept. 7, 2016.
Gede, or another unknown person, was traveling in a 2001 Holiday Rambler recreational vehicle west in the eastbound lane to avoid construction vehicles, and Sauber was struck with an open door on the camper trailer, according to the lawsuit.
Sauber had lost wages, pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, and head, neck, back, teeth and foot injuries, the lawsuit states.
The lawsuit seeks more than $25,000.
