Warren, O'Malley outline goals for joyful families | Advertiser-Tribune PHILADELPHIA — The World Meeting of Families ended just before 1 p.m. Friday in downtown Philadelphia. Two renowned speakers shared the podium to deliver the final keynote address: the Rev. Rick Warren, author of "The Purpose-Driven Life," and Cardinal Sean Patrick O'Malley, former archbishop of Boston. "Thank you for caring about the family enough to be here," Warren said. Next came a litany of issues Warren believes are weakening the family. Materialism, glamorized immorality, legalized abortion, divorce and secularism were on the list.
