Carey shrine welcomes new rector | Advertiser-Tribune CAREY — Father Ray Mallet, a Conventual Franciscan priest, is the new rector at Our Lady of Consolation in Carey. He replaces Father John Stowe, who was named bishop of Lexington in March. A native of Toledo, Mallet is to celebrate his 40th year as a priest in March 2016. "I was raised in the Cathedral Parish and went through Cathedral Grade School, and that was very formative in my life. I had the wonderful Ursuline sisters (as teachers) and then I went to Central Catholic and ran into Tiffin Franciscans, at that point, as well as Sylvanians (Franciscan sisters)," Mallet sai.
