Novena Aug. 6-14 in Carey | Advertiser-Tribune CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation plans the annual novena to Our Lady of Consolation in preparation for the feast of her assumption Aug. 6-14. The annual celebration is the largest event at the shrine. This year's novena preacher is the Rev. David Schalk, pastor of Christ the King Church in Columbus. Novena services are to take place daily at 8 p.m. except for Aug. 9, when the service is to be at 2:30 p.m. Weekday masses are at 7 a.m. in the Original Shrine Church and 11 a.m. in the basilica.
