Tiffin reports

A man was arrested and charged with public indecency and obstructing official business Saturday night after a 200-block South Sandusky Street caller reported there was man without pants in the area. The man had gone into a first-block Jackson Street residence, according to the report. Police attempted to make contact with the man inside the residence, but the man would not answer the door. He finally opened the door after about 20 minutes, and was arrested and taken to the Seneca County Jail.

An employee of Denny’s, 315 W. Market St., reported early Sunday morning an intoxicated customer had a laceration and a possible broken jaw. The man was found after falling out of a booth. According to the report, the injuries had been sustained during a fight earlier in the night. He was transported to Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

Guy H. Abbott, 53, of Tiffin, was cited with driving under suspension Sunday morning.

A caller reported finding a needle Sunday morning in the 100 block of Shepherd Drive. Police picked up the needle and disposed it.

A caller reported Sunday afternoon it appeared someone tried to break into a 700 block North Water Street residence.

A caller from the emergency room reported Sunday afternoon a 12-year-old boy was being treated after wrecking a go-cart.

A 100-block West Market Street woman reported Sunday afternoon a window was broken out of her residence overnight.

County reports

A caller reported early Sunday morning an elderly male was walking in the ditch in the 3000 block of South SR 231. The man was given a ride to a Van Meter Drive residence.

Fostoria reports

A caller from ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital reported Sunday afternoon a person was being treated following an assault that had occurred sometime overnight. The incident is under investigation.

A 1000-block Ebersole Boulevard woman reported Sunday evening she found needles in her yard. Syringes without needles were collected by police to be destroyed.

A man was charged with criminal damaging after a 400-block East Center Street woman reported he busted out a window on her car.

A 200-block Atha Avenue woman reported early Sunday morning someone hit her mailbox and destroyed it.

A 200-block Bannister Street caller reported early Sunday morning a window on a vehicle was busted out.

Tiffin accident

Herbert B. Crum, 75, of Tiffin, was cited with failure to yield at a stop sign following a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon a West Market and Benner streets. The other driver, Richard E. Young, 76, of Tiffin, was transported to Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

State Patrol

Elijah B. Oldaker, 20, of Fostoria, was cited with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, failure to control and underage possession/consumption following a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning in the 8000 block of West CR 38. According to Seneca County Sheriffs’ Office reports, a caller had reported a man who was injured in a crash walked to a residence. Oldaker was transported to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital.

Fire

Bascom fire and EMS were called to West CR 38 early Sunday morning for a person who was injured in an accident.

Old Fort fire and Bettsville EMS were called to a garage fire early Sunday morning on West TR 1020. Old Fort Fire Chief Craig Mellott said debris in an attached garage had started on fire, but the fire was quickly knocked down by firefighters. There was a small amount of structural damage to the garage and a small amount of smoke damage to the home.

EMS

Tiffin EMS had two squad runs Saturday afternoon, two squad runs Saturday evening and two squad runs Saturday night. Ambulances also were needed once early Sunday morning and twice Sunday morning.

Bloomville fire and EMS and the Echo unit had a squad run Saturday afternoon.

McCutchenville fire and New Riegel EMS had a squad run Saturday night.

Green Springs fire had a squad run Saturday night.

Bascom fire and EMS had a squad run early Sunday morning.
