Seneca County Park District invites Backpackin’ Babies to see a Feathered Friends Puppet Show at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, south of Bloomville. Infants up to 18 months old with an adult companion can attend in a backpack, frontpack, stroller or just be carried as they explore. Registration is required.
The monthly Nature Walk Bird Talk is set for 8 a.m. March 7 at Garlo preserve. All ages are welcome to walk the trails to see what nature has to offer. Dress appropriately for a one to 1 1/2-hour walk. Binoculars are helpful and cameras are welcome. The walk qualifies for the walking stick program. No registration is required.
Backyard birds are the topic of a Family Fun event 11 a.m.-2 p.m. March 7 at Garlo preserve. Families can explore the nature preserve with bird-related activities inside and outside. No registration is required.
During a Discovery Series program at 2 p.m. March 8, teens ages 12-17 can learn about quilling, or paper curling, as they make their own design. Each month, young people can join a naturalist to discover something new and exciting in the nature preserves. Registration is required.
Walk N Wread on the Storybook Trail at Garlo preserve. Start the new month by reading with a child. Once a month, walk the Storybook Trail for a new story. Anyone may walk and read at their leisure. Read six books and earn a prize. The program is co-sponsored with Bliss Public Library, Bloomville.

Sandusky County Park District is hosting a Sap to Syrup Open House 1-4 p.m. March 7 at Creek Bend Farm’s Wilson Nature Center, Lindsay. Visitors can see how sap is boiled down to syrup, see several evaporation techniques and discover the different methods used throughout history. To tickle the taste buds, the park district also is to have samples available to try. Guided tours start every 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Puddle Jumpers & Tree Huggers are to meet at 2 p.m. March 8 at Wolf Creek Campground. Puddles Jumpers are children ages 2-5 and Tree Huggers are ages 6-12. Children can explore and investigate their surroundings during hikes and activities. They should be prepared for the weather and be ready to get a little dirty. Register each child attending; adults need not register.
