Seneca County Park Programs
Seneca County Park District invites Young Adventurers ages 6-12 to a Busy Bees program at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Steyer Nature Preserve, 5901 N. CR 33. Kids can learn about the importance of bees through some fun and silly activities.
Children ages 6-12 can take part in an American Girl Series – Becoming Blaire (part 1) at 6 p.m. Thursday at Mercy Community Nature Preserve, 45 St. Lawrence Dr. Kids will read a chapter from the American Girl of the Year series “Blaire,” then do an activity that corresponds to the chapter. The program is a three-part series that continues July 18 and 25.
Music on the Porch is planned for 7 p.m. Friday at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, 6777 S. SR 19, Bloomville. Visitors can spend an evening listening to dulcimer music on the porch of the log house. Take along a chair or blanket or borrow one. Light refreshments are to be served.
A Discovery Series program called “Water Colors in the Park” is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at Tiffin University Nature Preserve, 2375 W. CR 26. Teens ages 12-17 can join a naturalist to discover new and exciting things in the nature preserve each month.
A canoe float is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Garlo Preserve. Registered people can spend an afternoon paddling around the big pond. Canoes, paddles and life jackets are provided. Registration is required as canoes are limited.
