Two iconic rock bands are to be featured Friday at The Ritz Theatre in a tribute performance.

Bostyx features the hits of the bands Boston and Styx together and is to feature David Victor, former vocalist/guitarist of Boston.

Victor recorded and toured with Boston on two North American tours and performed lead vocals on the No. 1 hit single “Heaven On Earth.”

Prior to joining Boston, Victor said he wanted to “stay in shape” for performing this type of music, so he and others created Bostyx and have been together for the past seven years.

“These iconic bands are a good combination,” Victor said.

Victor said all the music performed is live, with no recordings or backing tracks.

“Rock ‘n’ roll is being made as it was intended,” he said.

Their audiences seem to enjoy them, he said. Victor said to expect to have a great time at The Ritz.

With five lead vocalists and three guitarists, Victor said they can perform the bands’ hits as if they were listening directly to the album.

Bostyx is comprised of Glenn Jost, drummer/vocalist; Roby Duron, guitarist; Manny Aguirre, bassist; and Victor Bender, keyboardist and producer.

Tickets for the show at 7:30 p.m. Friday are $20-$35 and can be purchased at The Ritz box office, by calling (419) 448-8544 or by visiting www.ritztheatre.org.
