Barbershop chorus schedules concerts
FOSTORIA — Fostoria Lake Plains Barbershop chorus is to perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Wainwright Amphitheater in Foundation Park, 1225 S. Union St.
The chorus also is to perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Riverside Summer Concert Series at Riverside Park, 231 McManness Ave.
Based in Fostoria, the Lake Plains Chorus sings in the barbershop harmony style. The chorus is to perform their show “Decades,” featuring barbershop arrangements of popular songs from the ’40s to now.
MCL to show Marvel film
SYCAMORE — Mohawk Community Library is to be screening the film “The Avengers” at 1 p.m. today.
Free popcorn and drinks are to be served.
BSA Children’s Theatre to present fables that come to life
BELLEVUE — Bellevue Society for the Arts’ Children’s Theatre is to present “Aesop, Come Back!” by Joshua Mikel at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Hirt Theater, 205 Maple St.
In an attempt to prove Aesop was history’s greatest fabulist, a group of storytellers cracks the spine of a massive edition of “Aesop’s Fables,” releasing the old man’s most memorable characters into the theater, including the Tortoise, the Hare, the Hart, the Vines, the Simpletons, the Fox, the Lion and the Mouse.
The production is under the direction of Juliet Russell of Bellevue — with student director Joshua Higgins of Bellevue.
