NR student to march in Rose Parade | Advertiser-Tribune NEW RIEGEL – A New Riegel Local School freshman has been chosen to perform as one of 300 students from across the country in the 128 Rose Parade in the Bands of America National Honor Band. It all started when Blake Depinet was handed an information card about Bands of America by his band director, Cindy Downey. "I handed it to him just as a sort of joke," Downey said. "But he took it seriously and applied." Blake, who plays the sousaphone, sent in a video audition at the end of December and was notified in late February.
