Antique tractors on display

Tractors were on display Friday and Saturday in St. Ignace, Michigan, pictured here after participating in the Mackinac Bridge Antique Tractor Crossing Friday morning. Hank Elchert, of New Riegel, along with Kenny Clinger, of Ada, and Jerry Kelbley and his son Ben Kelbley, both of Tiffin, participated in the event. Elchert said the group left Wednesday and the tractors were to be on display starting Thursday. After crossing the bridge Friday, the tractors were on display until Saturday and there were “tractor games” as well, he said. Elchert said about 1,500 tractors crossed the bridge and all the tractors had to be older than 1976. From their group, each guy took one tractor, he said. “We always wanted to do this,” Elchert said. “We got together and decided we were just going to do it.”
