Man admits community control violation

An Alvada man admitted he violated the terms of his community control.

Rocky J. Danner, 35, was convicted of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony, and theft, a fifth-degree felony, in May 2015 and was sentenced to 23 months in prison in June 2015. He was granted judicial release in December 2015, and his sentence was modified to five years of community control.

Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Steve Shuff revoked his community control, court records state.

Shuff imposed a 23-month sentence and granted credit for 371 days served, court records state.

Commissioners to gather

Seneca County commissioners are to meet at 10 a.m. today at the commissioners’ office, 111 Madison St.

During new business, the board is to discuss an Ohio Historical Connection grant.

The board also is to discuss an information technology safety grant and hear an update on Seneca County Museum from director Tonia Hoffert.

At 10:15 a.m., commissioners plan to open bids for a superstructure replacement.

Fundraiser to benefit F.A.C.T.

Commitment, Care for Cancer Benefit is to be 6-11 p.m. Saturday at Tiffin Moose Lodge, 1146 N. SR 53.

The benefit is to feature live music, cash bar and food, silent and live auctions, theme basket raffles and more items for sale.

All proceeds are to go to Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment of Seneca County.

Pantry Plus bingo game planned at Moose

Pantry Plus of Seneca County is hosting the Big Cash Bingo Bash at 9 a.m. April 22 at Tiffin Moose Lodge, 1146 N. SR 53.

Cost for a large package is $40 and includes two cards for every game; it costs $50 the day of the bingo. The cost of a small package is $35 and includes one card for every game; it costs $45 the day of the bingo.

Packages purchased on or before April 19 are to receive a free buffet breakfast.

The bingo is limited to 279 players.

Lions to sell donuts

SYCAMORE — Mohawk Lions Club is to make spring donuts to be sold starting at 7:30 a.m. April 15 at the Sycamore firehouse.

Cost is $6 a dozen.

Model train show, swap meet scheduled

BUCYRUS – The Bucyrus Model Railroad Association is to sponsor the 31st annual Train Show, Swap Meet 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday in the Youth Building at the Crawford County Fairgrounds, 610 Whestone St.

Admission is $5 for adults and children 12 years old and younger are admitted free.

There is to be a gauge show with Railaoma, model supplies, scenery, books, movies and more.

There are to be two buildings open for the show, the Youth Building and the Bucyrus Model Railroad Building. Food is to be sponsored by Katering Kounty Style.

Historical society to celebrate former governor’s birthday

FOSTORIA – The Fostoria Area Historical Society is to host a birthday celebration for former Ohio governor Charles Foster noon-4 p.m. April 22 in downtown Fostoria.

Food is to be served at 123 N. Main St., along with more than 10 inside and outside vendors.

Buggy rides also are available for $3 per person with the Black Swamp Driving Club.

Sue Murray from Tiffin is to present a program on Victorian manners at 2 p.m. at the Foster Museum, 105 N. Main St.

Digital ticketing system featured at Heidelberg

Home Team Marketing, based in Cleveland, has announced a partnership between its digital ticketing platform, TicketRoar powered by Eventbrite, and the School of Music and Theatre at Heidelberg University.

The partnership is to offer the option of online ticket purchases and digital ticketing for theater events at Heidelberg.

The first event to have tickets sold on TicketRoar is the “25th Annual, Putnam County Spelling Bee,” today through Sunday in Gundlach Theatre.
