Fliers take care of Columbian

CLYDE — Jacob Weingart recorded Columbian’s only win Tuesday, beating Clyde’s No. 3 player, Ben Hohenstein 1-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Other than that, it was all Fliers.

Clyde’s Alex Caillet topped Columbian’s Collin Burkett 6-1, 6-2, and the Fliers’ Daniel Stevens beat TC’s Jason Weng, 6-1, 6-2 in the other singles matches.

In doubles play, Clyde’s Jason Strudthoff and James Dry got past Zach Krintzline and Jacob Beamer, 6-1, 6-2, and at second doubles, the Fliers’ team of Logan Nicely and David Hohenstein defeated Columbian’s Ryan Crocker and Austin Hill, 6-1, 7-5.

The Fliers improved to 11-1, 5-1 in the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division.

Columbian fell to 6-5, 3-2 in the conference.
