Burkhart out-duels Lacy in Eagles win over Seneca East

ATTICA — Colonel Crawford scratched across a run in the top of the first inning Tuesday at Seneca East.

That was the lone run of the game for the Eagles and it was enough in a 1-0 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win.

Seneca East (8-4, 6-2) out-hit the Eagles 5-2, but it didn’t matter.

Tyler Turek doubled and singled for the Tigers, while Hunter Martin added a pair of singles.

Drayton Burkhart pitched a complete game for the Eagles (9-4, 6-3), giving up five hits. He struck out nine and walked just one. Rickie Lacy suffered the defeat. He gave up an unearned run on two hits, while striking out 11 and walking five in seven innings of work.

Redmen come

back to beat Royals

FOSTORIA — The game between Fostoria and Wynford was scoreless through four innings Tuesday.

The Redmen broke through with two runs in the fifth, while Wynford responded with three in the top of the sixth only to lose the game 4-3, giving up two runs in the bottom of the seventh to the Redmen.

Fostoria tallied nine hits as Karsen Bemis had three singles and drove in a run. It also got two singles and an RBI from Dylan Sheets, a double and two RBIs from Jesus Garcia and a double by Alex Sierra.

Noah Smith singled and drove in a pair of runs for the Royals (5-8).

Bemis started on the mound for the Redmen going 5 2/3 innings. He allowed two runs on two hits, while fanning six. Trey Groves came in and gave up a run and Sheets went 2/3 of an inning, allowing three hits and striking out two. LaMont Fant got the win in 2/3 of an inning.

Kendall Blair took the loss for the Royals. He gave up four runs on eight hits. He struck out six and walked four.

Red Devils handle

Blue Jackets

NEW RIEGEL — Arlington jumped on New Riegel with three runs in the first inning en route to a 9-4 non-league win.

The Red Devils scored in six of seven innings, including racing out to a 7-4 lead after four frames.

Cole Noftz hit two singles and drove in a run for the Blue Jackets, while Chris Acree, Nick Reinhart and Logan Schalk all singled and drove in a run.

Schalk suffered the loss for New Riegel. He went four innings, giving up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits. He fanned three and walked a pair. Joe Tiell pitched three innings of relief, allowing two runs on three hits.

The Blue Jackets committed six errors.
