Bellevue’s Santoros, Columbian’s Woods tabbed for all-Ohio

Two helped lead their squad to a state ranking and a berth in the regional finals.

The other was the driving force on an improving program that posted its best season in a decade.

All three were named to the Division II all-Ohio team Wednesday.

Bellevue junior Casey Santoro was named to the D-II first team, while her sister and teammate, Cory Santoro, a sophomore, was named as an all-state honorable mention.

Joining Cory Santoro as an honorable mention was Columbian sophomore Kaia Woods.

Casey Santoro — who rated first-team all-state for the second consecutive season –averaged nearly 22 points and six rebounds a game. She also averaged four assists and 3.6 assists a game.

Cory Santoro was also important for the Lady Red, who finished the regular season ranked fourth in Division II.

Cory finished the season averaging 17 points and 3.3 assists per game.

Woods had a brilliant sophomore season, helping the Tornadoes to a 14-8 record and a trip the the Division II district semifinals.

Woods, a point guard, did just about everything for TC. She finished the regular season as the Sandusky Bay Conference leader in steals (5.3 per game) and assists (5.2 per game). She also averaged 17 points and nearly five rebounds a game.
