Harris shines for Senecas at home meet
Bowling Green commit is part of three Calvert wins
Taylor Harris won two races in season-best times and anchored Calvert to a relay win Saturday to top local efforts at the Calvert Senecas Season Kick-Off Invitational.
Harris’ work helped the Senecas finish fifth in the 11-team girls meet with 162 1/2 points.
Colonel Crawford beat Margaretta 507 1/2-352 for the title. Columbian ended sixth with 135 points.
In the boys meet, Huron held off Margaretta 343-308 for the crown, with Columbian scoring 287 points for third and Calvert taking 11th (33).
Harris won the girls 100 fly in 59.79 seconds and the 200 breast in 1:08.87 for the Senecas.
She also swam with Alana Kennedy, Meghan Miller and Erin Wagner to give Calvert the 400 free relay in 4:11.15.
Columbian’s best finish came in the 200 free relay, where Sydney Fortney, Lillyan Jones, Kailey Windsor and Sierra Steinmetz took sixth (2:05.33).
In the boys meet, Columbian’s lone win came from Josh Fanning, Clay Moore, Cole Eisenhower and Sergi Mont claiming the 200 free relay in 1:37.87.
Seconds for the Tornadoes came in the 200 medley relay (1:50.95), Mont in the 200 IM (2:10.48) and Eisenhower in the 50 free (23.62) and 100 free (53.73).
Eisenhower, Mont, Fanning and Moore swam in the 200 medley relay.
Fanning added thirds in the 100 fly (1:02.48) and 500 free (5:42.81), as did Moore in the 50 free (24.67) and Mont in the 100 back (1:00.78).
Calvert’s Sam Krout captured fifth in the 500 free (6:07.16).
