JUNIOR HIGH BOYS BASKETBALL: New Riegel’s seventh grade got past St. Joe, 28-25. Brody Hohman had 11 points for the Blue Jackets.

n Old Fort’s eighth grade beat Sandusky St. Mary 50-21. Isaac Snyder had 15 for the Stockaders, while Shane Webb had eight and Adam Magers had eight.

n Evan Kreais had nine points and Blake Berrier had six as Hopewell-Loudon’s seventh grade beat Van Buren 29-13.

n Van Buren’s eighth grade knocked off Hopewell-Loudon 47-32. Hayden Welly had 12 points in the loss for the Chieftains.

n Bucyrus’ seventh grade took care of Mohawk, 44-25. Cody Coppus had 11 points for the Warriors.

n Mohawk got 14 points from AJ Hess and 11 points from Owen Chevalier in a 38-33 eighth grade win over Bucyrus.

n Old Fort’s seventh grade beat Sandusky 51-18. Konnor Ernsberger had 16 points for the Stockaders, while Carter Dubois had nine points.

n Colonel Crawford’s eighth grade edged Senecas East, 58-57, in double overtime. Isaac Mason had 23 points for the Tigers, while Grahm Gibbs had 12.

n Colonel Crawford beat Seneca East’s seventh grade, 39-14. Blake Foos and Caden Bumb had six points each for the Tigers.

n Drew Hohman had 18 points, Drew Theis had nine points and Shane Hohman had seven as New Riegel’s eighth grade knocked off St. Joe, 48-27.

JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS BASKETBALL: Colonel Crawford’s seventh grade topped Seneca East 24-20. Caroline Kagy had 11 for the Tigers.

n Hillary Bogner had nine points, helping Seneca East’s eighth grade to a 19-16 win over Colonel Crawford.

n Calvert’s eighth grade upended Gibsonburg in its season opener, 24-21. Seylah Moyer had 11 for the Senecas, while Ashlynn Deats had six.

n Old Fort’s eighth grade upended Sandusky St. Mary, 20-16. Kennedy Guth had 12 points for the Blue Jackets, while Olivia Jones had four.

n Macie Miller’s 16 points led Old Fort’s seventh grade to a 37-13 win over Sandusky St. Mary. Gillian Eakin had nine for the Stockaders.

n Bucyrus’ seventh grade beat Mohawk 25-12. A.J. Chevalier and Josie Granata had four points each for Mohawk.

n Bailey Sheets had 16 points and Emily Klopp had 14 as Mohawk’s eighth grade topped Bucyrus 32-17.

BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL: Hopewell-Loudon won the Cody Rainey Chieftain Tip-off Tournament by beating Mansfield Temple Christian 67-40 Saturday. Hopewell-Loudon’s Jordyn Jury, Carter Coffman and Travis Milligan made the all-tournament team, while Milligan was the tournament’s MVP.

PREP WRESTLING: Columbian dualed Elyria and Perrysburg Saturday at Elyria. Elyria beat Columbian 57-15. The Tornadoes’ Caden Blust (145), Brody Conley (152), Brock Minnick (160) and Joe Simcoe all picked up wins. The Tornadoes fell 36-24 to Perrysburg. Bret Minnick won a match by forfeit, while Andrew Branson (132) recorded a pinfall, Blust and Conley won decisions, Kaeden Hatlay (170) also won a decision, while Simcoe also picked up a decision.

n Hopewell-Loudon’s Caden Crawford and Lance Crawford each had first-place finishes at Gibsonburg Saturday.

WRESTLING: Bellevue will host the 42nd annual Bellevue Bob Bailey Wrestling Invitational Dec. 8 in the Bellevue High gymnasium. Bellevue, Carey, Clyde, Genoa, Huron, Oak Harbor, Amherst Steele, Sandusky St. Mary, Wellington and Westlake will compete. Wrestling begins at 9 a.m. The finals start at approximately 5:45 p.m. or an hour after the sixth round of morning and afternoon wrestling. All-day adult tickets cost $9, while all-day student tickets cost $6. Tickets for only the finals evening session cost $6 for adults and $5 for students. There will no passes accepted. T-shirts will be available to purchase until noon.
