Fliers get by Truckers by 9 strokes for 6th victory
NORWALK — Behind two 38s from Ben Hohenstein and Ryder Gamertsfelder, Clyde took down Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division foe Norwalk 160-169 Thursday at Eagle Creek.
Backing the two Fliers (6-2, 5-2 SBC Lake) were Logan Nicely with a 41 and Grant Reese with a 43. Max Yates shot a 47 and Tyler Dearth ended with a 51.
Carter Kluding led the Truckers with a 37, Kyle Smith shot a 41, Zach Crane had a 44 and Noah Schieel finished with a 47. Gavin Koelsch and Justin Sommers shot twin 48s.
TC escapes with win
Every stroke mattered Thursday as Columbian edged Perkins 185-186 at Mohawk Country Club in a Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division match.
Andrew Branson’s 45 led the way for Columbian (6-1) with Griffin Bunting (46), Tevor McCarthy (47) and Greg Gase (47) also contributing. Brenton Brown shot a 48 and Gabe Reyes had a 64.
Perkins (4-3) got 43s from Drew McVeigh and Sam Siegel, a 49 by John Sharp and a 51 from Ryan Johnson. Dyson Leffler shot a 51 and Jacob Williams ended with a 54.
Carey edges H-L in tri-match
CAREY — Hopewell-Loudon’s Cody Balliet fired a medalist 38 Thursday at Bob’s Countryside, but it wasn’t quite enough as Carey slipped past the Chieftains 176-177, while Bucyrus shot a 214 in a tri-match.
For Carey, Dylan Grothaus led the way with a 41, while Ethan Tanner and Carter Frederick shot twin 44s and McKain Miller and Brayden Miller both shot a 47. Peyton Young followed with a 55.
Backing Balliet was Lane Myers and Luke Graham with 46s for H-L, while Owen Schumm added a 47. Devon Falter shot a 48 and Tyson Swanagan finished with a 51.
Reece Ziegler led the Redmen with a 40. They also got 57s from Michael Wise and Grady Jackson and 63s from Chandler Blankenship and Blake Rittenhour. Trenton Hardy carded a 60.
Norwalk gets the better of TC
Despite a 48 from Ava Sarka, Norwalk topped Columbian 232-234 at Mohawk Country Club Thursday in a Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division victory.
Anna Little led the Truckers (4-1) with a 50, while Hannah Dumbeck had a 60 and Noelle Jackson and Chloe Thomas shot twin 61s. Carmen Kirchbaum had a 64 and Emily Berry carded a 75.
Backing Sarka for TC (5-3) was Meredith Obringer (56), Taylor Losey (62) and Tyler Ward (68). Norah Smith recorded a 71 and Breanna Brock tallied an 82.
Bucks get revenge on Wynford
BUCYRUS — Buckeye Central had to win Thursday to have a chance at a share of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference.
The Bucks avenged an earlier loss to Wynford 197-201 at The Golf Club of Bucyrus.
For the Bucks (7-1 N10), Leah Vanderpool and Lexi Biglin shot twin 48s, while Alli Stahl had a 50 and Layne Vanderpool shot a 51. Madi Diesch carded a 64 and Beth Cronau finished with a 69.
Wynford dropped to 8-1 in the N10.
Stockaders get above .500
FREMONT — Colin Nutter recorded a 44 to lead Old Fort to a 187-194 non-league victory over Fremont Ross at Fremont Country Club.
Backing Nutter was Kaleb Wilkinson (45), Carson Steyer (48) and Andrew Combs (50). Jarett Woodall carded a 51 and Jack DeRan registered a 57.
For the Little Giants, Braxton White led the way with a 53. They also got a 48 from Cole Druckenmiller, a 49 by Zane Rusch and a 54 by Luke Obrien.
The Stockaders improved to 6-5.
Tigers slip past Rams
UPPER SANDUSKY — Upper Sandusky’s Katie Clark led everyone with a 46, but it was Seneca East who had the better team score for a 220-222 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win at Lincoln Hills.
Alivia Lucius shot a 51 for the Tigers (5-3), while Olivia Boeser added a 52, Autumn Enders recorded a 57 and Elli French finished with a 60.
Besides Clark, Kendra Conley fired a 55, Olivia Barth carded a 60 and Hally Courtad ended with a 61 for the Rams (2-7).
