Buckeye Central remains unbeaten in N10
MORRAL — Lexi Evak smacked 13 kills and three blocks for Buckeye Central, leading the Bucks to a 25-15, 25-12, 25-14 sweep of Ridgedale in Northern 10 Athletic Conference action Wednesday.
Allyson Sostakowski added seven kills and four digs for the Bucks (6-3, 5-0 N10), while Allison Weithman tallied 24 assists, two kills, seven digs and an ace and Lydia Ackerman made 15 digs.
Two late goals
Columbian knotted the game with Perkins at 2 early in the second half, but two late Pirates goals lifted them to a 4-2 Sandusky Bay Conference victory at Frost-Kalnow Stadium Wednesday.
Perkins got things started early with a Lucas Salmo goal eight minutes into the contest. TC’s Kylen Coopshaw tied the contest at 1 with a goal a minute later off an assist from Presley Eastlick. Perkins took the lead in the 33rd minute on a Anthony Schafer goal to give it a 2-1 lead at the half.
Eastlick tied the game with a penalty kick in the 52nd minute, but goals from Zack Morehart and Schafer lifted the Pirates.
TC’s Adam Schermer made six saves in net.
Rockets stay hot
BUCYRUS — A day after dispatching Carey, Ridgedale took down Mohawk 160-198 at New Winchester Wednesday in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play.
Leading the way for the Rockets was Grant Park with a 37. They also got 40s from Brock Williams and Jesse Schertzer and a 43 by Merrick Cooper.
For Mohawk, Logan Drum recorded a 44, while Kaiden Hammer added a 48, Zach King shot a 52 and Reese Hannam rounded out the scoring with a 54. Owen England (57) and Evan Kuenzli (58) also competed for the Warriors.
CAREY — Hopewell-Loudon all scored in the 40s Wednesday at Bob’s Countryside to get a 183-191 win over Leipsic. Riverdale shot a 201.
For H-L, Cody Balliet shot a 42, while Kiley Cline and Owen Schumm both carded a 46 and Luke Graham ended with a 49. Devin Falter recorded a 56 and Tyson Swanagan was right behind him with a 57.
Mason Tadena’s 46 led the Vikings, while Mason Brandt (48), Jaden Siefker (48) and Brock Lammers (49) also contributed for Leipsic.
The Falcons got a 45 from Andrew Kuenzli, a 49 by Rease Haley, a 52 from Curtis Tracey and 55s by Justin Hartman and Jakob Tackett.
PORT CLINTON — Clyde made quick work of Port Clinton Wednesday with a 5-0 win.
In singles play, Clyde’s Lakotah Cagle topped Hannah Cross 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, while Siera Hisey downed Alaina Dackermann 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 and Madi Bannister beat Ally Batterton 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3.
It was similar in doubles as Clyde’s No. 1 duo of Hali Hagemeyer and Emma Strudthoff topped Amelia Smith and Olivia Eickert 6-3, 6-1 and the No. 2 team of Alyssa Lauer and Klara Miller defeated Madi McGlothlin and Paige Reineck 6-2, 6-3.
The Fliers improved to 5-4 overall.
