Willard dominates Clyde

WILLARD — Willard made quick work of Clyde Monday in a 5-0 sweep.

In singles play, Willard’s No. 1 Emma Moll beat Lakotah Cagle 7-5, 6-1, while No. 2 Carlee Gibson topped Siera Hisey 7-5, 6-4 and No. 3 Addison Paxton beat Emma Strudthoff 6-0, 6-1.

It was more of the same in doubles action as the No. 1 Willard duo of Addie Sloan and Jo Brubaker beat Mary Wilkerson and Madi Bannister 6-1, 6-1. The No. 2 team of Whitney Robinson and Kennedy Daub downed Hali Hagemeyer and Megan Barrett 6-1, 6-4.

Little Giants drop Tornadoes

Fremont Ross almost had a sweep of Columbian Monday, but the No. 2 doubles team for the Tornadoes prevailed in a 4-1 defeat.

In singles play, Fremont’s Gilli Gallagher beat Casey Knutson 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1, while Lily Abdoo beat Anna Stephey 6-1, 6-0 and Berlin Swaisgood topped Linzi Boos 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles play, Ross’ No. 1 team of Emma Jahns and Vivyanna Esquivel beat Erin Musil and Jaidyn Borer 6-1, 6-4.

Columbian’s lone win was by the No. 2 doubles duo of Whitney Johnston and Morgan Amory topped Lilli Swinehart and Izzy Wtkinson 3-6, 6-3, 11-9 in a third set tiebreaker.
