Hohenstein leads Clyde charge

CLYDE — Clyde’s Ben Hohenstein fired a 76 to end fourth individually Monday at the Clyde Invitational at Green Hills.

Hohenstein’s effort helped the host Fliers tie Eastwood for fifth with a 340.

Galion upended Perkins 311-333 for the title in the 30-team event.

Columbian shot a 343 to tie for sixth and Mohawk ended 28th with a 433.

Logan Nicely backed Hohenstein with an 86 for Clyde, Ryder Gamerstfelder fired an 88 and Grant Reese had a 90. Tyler Dearth (95) also played for the Fliers.

Trevor McCarthy led Columbian with an 84. Griffin Bunting followed with an 85 and Andrew Bunting and Greg Gase each shot an 87. Brenton Brown (91) also played for the Tornadoes.

Mohawk got an 84 from Logan Drum, 100 from Evan Kuenzli, 120 from Reese Hannam and 129 from Kaiden Hammer.

Whippets win own invite

SHELBY — Columbian’s Ava Sarka fired a 97 Monday at Shelby Country Club at the Shelby Invite as the Tornadoes finished eighth (446), while Shelby won the event with a 340. Bellevue was fourth (413).

Taylor Losey and Meredith Obringer had twin 115s for the Tornadoes, while Tyler Ward had a 125, Norah Smith shot a 135 and Audrey Buskirk ended with a 153.

Eagles top Rams in N10 opener

UPPER SANDUSKY — In the first match for both teams, Colonel Crawford upended Northern 10 Athletic Conference rival Upper Sandusky, 237-241, at Lincoln Hills Monday.

Maci Risner was the medalist with a 53 for the Eagles, while Lexie Hillman added a 55, Katie Reynolds fired a 60 and Chelsea Daubenspie ended with a 69.

For the Rams, Hally Courtad had a 55, while Katie Clark (57), Kendra Conley (58) and Olivia Barth (71) also played.

St. Paul takes down Clyde

NORWALK — Despite a 47 from Clyde’s Brooke Newsome, St. Paul topped the Fliers 217-225 Monday at Eagle Creek.

Clori Hackenburg added a 55 for Clyde, while Margaret Hilliker had a 58 and Hunter Schwochow rounded out the scoring with a 65. Grace Pocock shot a 67.
