Outlook: Branson and McCarthy will look to lead the team this season. Both are four-year starters, and McCarthy advanced to the district meet a year ago.
Vasko said the pair have even higher expectations, for themselves, and the team.
“They have a ton of experience and they really want us to have the best year that we can have,” Vasko said. “They have talked extensively about playing their games, controlling what they can control, and letting the chips fall wherever they fall.”
The team also has two other seniors, Gase and Reyes. Vasko said the Tornadoes have received strong leadership from the group.
“Andrew and Trevor, along with the other seniors, Greg Gase and Gabe Reyes, have shown a lot of maturity and leadership this summer,” Vasko said. “I think they have realized if they focus on what they can control, everything falls into place. These guys just plan on competing their rear ends off each time they step on the course and let things happen. If they do that consistently, they will meet not only my expectations, but theirs as well.”
The Tornadoes also return two other letterwinners in Brown and Bunting.
Vasko said the Tornadoes have a chance to be good, but need to remain focused.
