1-2 punch fuels Tigers against Blue Devils

ATTICA — Jessie Bowerman approached a triple-double and Jillian Allgyre added a double-double Tuesday as Seneca East opened Northern 10 Athletic Conference play by outlasting Carey 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21.

Bowerman (2 aces) turned in 15 assists, 13 digs and eight kills for the Tigers (2-1, 1-0 N10), while Allgyre (2 aces, 2 kills) registered 17 assists and 14 digs.

Lauren Bogner backed them with 27 digs, Maria Phillips came up with 14 digs, Tori Fritz had eight kills and five digs, Alexis Hicks drilled three blocks and three kills and Mallory Beamer served three aces.

Stockaders turn back Clyde

OLD FORT — The games got closer, but Clyde just couldn’t catch Old Fort as the Stockaders claimed a 25-16, 25-21, 25-23 win Tuesday.

Madison Guth (4 digs, 3 kills, 2 aces) tossed up 30 assists for the Stockaders, Ashlyn Magers came up with 21 digs and Jenna Clouse had 11 kills and three digs.

Morgan Miller chipped in eight digs and five kills, Savannah McCoy registered eight digs and seven kills, Grace Wasserman lined seven kills and MarcQue Harris had five digs.

Grace Ball’s 20 assists and five digs and Ruby Schabel’s 10 digs, eight kills and two solo blocks paced the Fliers.

Alexis Keegan had 10 digs and six kills, Jackie Smith (2 solo blocks) chipped in six kills and five digs and Izzy Montano came up with six digs.

“Even though we lost, the girls made great comebacks in each set,” Clyde coach Allison Carter said. “They have shown improvement since Saturday’s matches. We still have things to work on, but are making progress.”

Van Buren drops Raiders

VAN BUREN — Van Buren overpowered Lakota 25-16, 25-12, 25-14 Tuesday.

Grace Swaisgood (2 aces) came up with 26 digs in the loss for Raiders (0-1), and Madison King had nine digs, five kills and four aces.

Anna Brubaker (2 aces) added eight digs, Qiara Palos tallied six digs and three assists, Katelyn Klotz ended with five digs, four assists and three kills, and Amber Eubank had three digs.

Rams fall in N10 opener

UPPER SANDUSKY — Colonel Crawford battled past Upper Sandusky 25-20, 25-22, 26-24 Tuesday in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play.

Eve Smith keyed the Rams (0-2, 0-1 N10) in the loss with 12 assists and 11 digs, and Kenedi Hayden had 16 digs, five kills and three aces.

Jadyn Smith added 17 digs for Upper Sandusky and Anna Johnson lined 10 kills.
