GOLF: The team of Don Kin, John Powell, Don Hammer and Jim Brickner won Friday’s Senior League at Clinton Heights with a score of eight under. At six under in second was the team of Dick Hull, Dave Seislove, Charles Reinbolt and Rick Ward. Prizes were won by Jim Ruess (closest in one), Jon Eakin (closest in two), Harry Smith (closest in three) and Powell (long putt).

n The second 1/3 of the Thursday Night K of C League season was won by the duo of Don Hoepf and Terry Nusbaum with 37 1/2 points. Prizes were awarded to Scott Ferguson (long drive on No. 10), Tom Traunero (closest to pin on No. 11), Greg Tiell (long putt on No. 14) and Dan Roessner (closest to pin on No. 18). Skins were won by the teams of Ferguson and Andy Hess, Tim Sacksteder and Joe Worland, and Bob Gooding and Wayne Traxler.

OFFICIATING CERTIFICATION: The Tiffin Area Football Officials Association is to sponsor a class to become certified in officiating OHSAA football. The class is to begin July 30. Registration is at officials.myohsaa.org. Contact Mike Reinhart for any questions (419) 937-3653.

SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT: The 21st Annual Laurie Mann Memorial Tournament at Port Clinton Waterworks Park is to be July 27-28. This is to be a USSSA Men’s Qualifier. Proceeds go to a scholarship fund for graduating seniors. Call Mike Williamson for details at (419) 603-7687.

5K RUN: Lourdes University will host its second annual 5K Terra Cotta Trot Oct. 14. The event starts at 8 a.m. on the university mid-campus grounds near the Ebeid Recreational Center. Cost is $25. FALL BASEBALL: Tiffin Cal Ripken D League is signing up players through July 27 for fall baseball. The league is for 10-year-olds who turn 11 before May 1, 2019, and for 11- and 12-year-olds who cannot turn 13 before May 1, 2018.
