SAND VOLLEYBALL: Addison Conti and Emma White claimed the 16’s division title at a national qualifier in Gages Lake, Illinois. With the win, the girls received a bid to Volley America Junior Nationals which is to be held in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

GOLF: The Senior League at Clinton Heights finished in a tie at five under. The team of Dave Combs, Jim Kimmell, Steve Scheiber and Jim Sherwood tied with Dave Purnell, John Powell, John Armstrong and Gary Kroeger. Prizes went to Powell (closest in one) Combs (closest in two), Scheiber (closest in three) and Dave Seislove (long putt).

n Don Hoepf and Terry Nusbaum lead the Thursday Night K of C League with 31 1/2 points. Prizes were awarded to Hoepf (long putt on No. 2), Dave Porter (closest to pin on No. 4), Jeff Welty (long drive on No. 6) and Ken Gooding (closest to pin on No. 8). Skins were won by Ken and Aaron Gooding.

n The New Riegel 4-man Team Scramble is July 14 sponsored by the New Riegel Athletic Boosters. The event occurs at Loudon Meadows with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. BASEBALL: The Northern Ohio Storm baseball tournament organization will host a tryout July 14 for its 8-and-under fall ball team. The tryout runs 10 a.m.-noon at Tiffin University softball field at the Paradiso Complex. The 8-and-under team will compete in the Huron fall league (mid-August to mid-October) with games on Saturdays. Players must be 8 or younger as of May 1, 2018 to be eligible. AMA VILLAGE MOTORCYCLE DAYS: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington will host the American Motorcycle Association’s Vintage Motorcycle Days today and Sunday. The event serves as a fundraiser for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. The event will also include a variety of featured races (road racing, hare scrambles, motocross, trials, exhibition pit bike racing), seminars, entertainment and activities, and live music. Tickets are $60 for the weekend and $40 for Friday and Saturday and $35 for Sunday. Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a ticketed adult. PARENT MEETING: Upper Sandusky High School will host a fall sports meeting July 23 in the gym. Parents of all sports (excluding golf and cheerleading) are expected to attend.
