Niederkohr, Pressler dot 1st-team All-Ohio teams
Carey sophomore Hailey Niederkohr and Bellevue senior Sophia Pressler both were named first-team All-Ohioans Tuesday when the teams were released by the Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association. Niederkohr was in Division IV, while Pressler was in Division II.
Pressler led the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division champion Lady Red (16-5, 11-1) with a .472 batting average. She also had a .830 slugging percentage. Pressler hit four home runs, six doubles, drove in 16 runs and scored 22 times in the regular season. Teammate Lyndsey Seamon, a senior, was named honorable mention. She was the team’s main pitcher, hurling 55 innings this season. She had a 2.42 ERA with 46 punchouts and 17 walks. She went 7-1. Seamon also hit .468 with a pair of homers, six doubles, 21 RBIs and 21 runs scored. She only struck out once.
Clyde sophomore Murissa Drown joined Seamon as an honorable mention pick. She batted .500 this season.
Columbian senior Macy Allen was on the second team in Division II. The Tornado hit .524 with a home run, seven doubles, 10 RBIs and 14 runs. Her slugging percentage was .810, which led the team.
Niederkohr led the Northern 10 Athletic Conference champion Blue Devils with a .556 batting average, which also led the league. She also led the league in runs (34). She belted four homers and stole 14 bases. Teammate Blayc Hacker, a senior, was a second-team selection. She went 14-3 in the circle with a 1.77 ERA in 103 innings pitched. She struck out 153 and walked 30. She also drove in 28 runs at the plate.
The other selection in Division IV was New Riegel junior Kristin Coleman as honorable mention. She hit .440 with a dinger, seven doubled, five triples, 13 RBIs and 32 runs, which led the team. She also swiped 13 bases.
