Minutemen handle Fliers 4-1

LEXINGTON — The Clyde boys tennis team battled the rain and weather Saturday, but couldn’t come away with a win at Lexington. The Fliers managed to win a second doubles match in a 4-1 defeat.

In singles action, Lexington’s No. 1 Benton Drake topped Lukas Cziesla 6-3, 6-2, while No. 2 Blake Webster 6-0, 6-1 and No. 3 Brent Webster beat Jacob Strudthoff 6-3, 6-2.

Lexington’s fourth win was the first doubles duo of Luke Webster and Josh Mueller beating Clyde’s Noah Prunty and Sam Borden 6-1, 6-0.

Clyde’s second doubles team of Logan Nicely and David Hohenstein upended Agit Venka Katakruham and Spencer Drake 1-6, 7-5(5), 10-5.

The Fliers are 5-2 overall.
