Bellevue’s Santoro, USHS’ Fogle, Clyde’s Marshall rate all-Ohio
Bellevue’s Casey Santoro was a problem for opponents all season, and the sophomore guard led the Lady Red to within a single game of the Division II girls state tournament.
Santoro, who averaged 22 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals a game, was named to the All-Ohio first team in Division II.
Santoro — who was already named the player of the year in the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division and in District 6 — was joined on the all state list by two other area players.
Upper Sandusky senior guard Abigail Fogle capped a remarkable career by being named to the D-II second team. Fogle, a 3-point dynamo, finished her career in the top five in made treys in the state. She also scored more than 1,700 points.
This season, the guard averaged 20.5 points a game, and 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists a game.
Also making the the all state list was Clyde senior Heidi Marshall, an honorable mention pick.
Marshall averaged 20.7 points and nearly four steals a game for the Fliers.
