Three Warriors go 5-0 at home meet

SYCAMORE — Three Mohawk wrestlers went 5-0 Saturday at the Mohawk Duals, helping the Warriors go 3-2.

Caden Gurney, Daniel Price and Kaleb Leeth had the perfect marks for the host Warriors.

Gurney got all of his wins at 132 pounds, posting four pins and a forfeit victory.

Price had four pins and a forfeit win at 138 pounds.

Leeth earned a pin and forfeit at 160 pounds, and two pins and a decision at 170 pounds.

James Clouse (220), Morgan Price (145, 152) and Parker Brown (170, 182) each added a 3-2 mark for Mohawk, and Austin England (145, 152) went 2-1.

Fostoria finished 0-5 Saturday.

Roger Hall led the Redmen by winning three of his four 195-pound matches via pin and earning a pin at 220 pounds. He lost a 195-pound bout by a major decision.

H-L has trio of runners-up

FREMONT — Hopewell-Loudon’s Kole Freeman, Caden Crawford and Levi Kuhn each finished second and three teammates also placed Saturday at the Fremont St. Joe Mark Coleman Invitational.

Freeman fell 7-1 to Eastwood’s Bryce Maynard in the 106-pound title match.

Crawford was pinned by Eastwood’s 132-pounder Kyle Fruth (:50).

Kuhn was pinned by a Port Clinton wrestler in the title bout at 182 pounds (1:47).

Thirds for the Chieftains came from Logan Holcomb at 126, Caleb Hinton at 170 and Aidan Sears at 220.
