Quick start fuels Rams
UPPER SANDUSKY — Upper Sandusky took control early and coasted from there Friday to beat Willard 60-49 in the season-opener for both.
The Rams vaulted out to a 19-6 lead by the first stop.
Mason Vent led Upper Sandusky with 12 points, Harrison Sheaffer scored 10 and Jevon Dible and Trevor Clifford both popped in nine.
The Crimson Flashes got 15 points from Broc Baldridge and 11 from Brevon Polachek.

Bucks in opener
NEW WASHINGTON — Max Loy led the game in scoring for Buckeye Central but the Bucks fell 50-49 to Plymouth Friday in both teams’ season opener.
Loy had a game-high 20 points shooting 7 of 15 from the field and 3 of 5 from the free throw line.
The Big Red had three players in double-digit scoring. Jacob Adams led Plymouth with 16 points, while Zach Richman and Kade Collins each added 14. Dylan Osbourne grabbed 11 boards for the Big Red, followed by Adams with seven.
Darren Wurm followed Loy with nine points — six coming from the line. Jacob Heefner scored all eight of his points from the charity stripe, while Kyle Sanderson also had eight points.
The Bucks were 21 of 29 from the free throw line.
MOUNT BLANCHARD — Carey was itching to start the season Friday as it raced out to a 24-6 first-quarter lead against Riverdale.
Carey’s offense didn’t slow down much as it topped the Falcons 83-58.
There were 11 different Blue Devils that scored. Cody Luzader led the way with 13 points, while Griffin Summit added 12 points and seven rebounds, Casey Crawford scored 11 points, Hayden Stone tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds and Logan Smiley finished with eight points. Trey Bame had seven points and five assists.
