Coppus motors TC past Rams

Gavyn Coppus got Columbian started with a goal in the first half and then added his second in the second half to help the Tornadoes take down Upper Sandusky 2-1 Tuesday.

Coppus’ first goal was assisted by his brother, Xavier Coppus.

Upper Sandusky (3-12-1) tied the game 10 minutes later in the first half on a Lupe Landeverde goal on assists from Jaidyn Thiel and Quinton Voorhees.

Gavyn Coppus scored his second goal at the 29:59 mark of the second half.

TC led the Rams in shots on goal, 14-11, and in corner kicks, 3-1.

Dylan McCray made eight saves in net for the Tornadoes, while Brandon Geisey made 11 in net for the Rams.
