Blue Jackets ease past Redskins

NEW RIEGEL — New Riegel controlled the first and third quarters Tuesday to set the tone for a 62-36 win against Arcadia.

The Blue Jackets (7-3) led 19-9 at the first stop and outscored the Redskins 17-6 in the third period to push their lead to 47-26.

Ben Dryfuse led the winners with 18 points and six rebounds and Shane Halcomb chipped in 12 points, five assists and four steals. Austin Lescallett scored nine points, Lucas Williams had eight points and four assists and Mitchell Kramer tallied four assists and four steals.

Alex Pessell scored 14 points for Arcadia (1-8) and Trevor Brubaker netted eight.

Hayman-led Warriors roll

SYCAMORE — Zach Hayman fueled Mohawk’s first-quarter surge and two teammates combined for 24 points Tuesday in a 49-25 win against Vanlue.

Hayman scored all nine of his points in the opening period to help the Warriors (3-8) grab a 16-7 lead. He also grabbed eight rebounds.

Chris Klopp chipped in 14 points and Kaiden Hammer had 10 for Mohawk.

Woodmore rallies past Redmen

FOSTORIA — Woodmore rallied past Fostoria in the fourth quarter Tuesday to claim a 72-68 Northern Buckeye Conference victory.

The Wildcats trailed 54-47 after the third period before racing past the Redmen 25-14 in the fourth.

Mitchell Miller and J.T. Adkin both scored seven points in the fourth quarter to fuel the comeback. Miller ended with 18 points and Adkin had nine.

Derek Wank’s 23 points led Woodmore and Mikey Blausey added 13.

Dae’mier Johnson sparked the Redmen with 15 points and nine rebounds.Armand Cousin and Jadyn Stanton each netted 14 points, Gabe Sierra had 11 and Aneas Cousin tossed in 10.
