Upper Sandusky beats River Valley for second win of year

UPPER SANDUSKY – Lupe Landaverde scored two goals in the first half for Upper Sandusky as the Rams topped River Valley 5-2 Saturday.

Chris Omeonga and Seth Lortz added goals in the first half to give the Rams (2-5-1) a 4-0 advantage. Lortz scored again in the second half before the Vikings (4-5) netted two goals late in the match.

Omeonga, Ross Swinehart, Cameron Brady and Jaidyn Thiel all had an assist for Upper Sandusky.

The Rams led in shots on goal (15-13) and corner kicks (2-1). Anson Hill made 11 saves in net for the Rams, while Carter Layton made 10 for the Vikings.

Miller-led Rams rock Blue Streaks

SANDUSKY – Upper Sandusky’s Grace Miller had herself a day on the pitch Saturday as she recorded a goal and dished three assists to help the Rams beat Sandusky 5-1.

The Rams (6-1-1) got out to a 3-0 halftime lead, aided by goals from Jenna Rodriguez, Miller and Trudy Daughenbaugh. In the second half, Megan Hensel and Rodriguez scored to make the score 5-0 before Taylor Deppert netted a goal for the Blue Streaks (2-6-1) at the 13:46 mark.

Other than Miller, Daughenbaugh and Sierra Carey both had assists.

The Rams led in shots on goal 10-2, while also getting all of the corner kicks, 7-0. Kate Ritchey made one save in net for the Rams, while Hannah Hayberger tallied five in net for Sandusky.
