Tong, Scherger aid Oilers against Dragons
FINDLAY – The Tiffin University volleyball team rebounded from a 2-0 game deficit to force a fifth set, but lost at Findlay Saturday, 25-21, 25-18, 21-25, 17-25, 15-8.
The Dragons fell to 6-4 overall, 0-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Carey graduate Hannah Tong had a team-high 19 kills for the Oilers, who upped their record to 6-3, 2-0.
New Riegel graduate Kara Scherger, who also plays for Findlay, had 19 digs.
TU was paced by Alexandria Miglin, who had 13 kills, and Olivia Cobb, who had 15 digs. Buckeye Central graduate Emily Weithman dished out 43 assists.

SPRINGFIELD – Heidelberg played two of the best teams in Division III Saturday.
And came away with a split.
After losing to No. 19 Washington, 23-25, 25-15, 25-21, 17-25, 15-13, Heidelberg responded by sweeping No. 5 Juniata 25-23, 26-24, 25-22.
In the loss to Washington, Mohawk graduate Sarah Parker smashed 17 kills for Heidelberg, while Rachel Stroski added 10. Karlie DiRuzza had 44 assists and 14 digs, while Rachel Raimondo had 18 digs for the Student Princes.
In the win over Junuata, Parker had nine kills, while Raimondo had 18 digs and Janessa Scott recorded a team-high 11 kills. Sydney Moore and Megan Flaherty added 10 digs each.
HU falls in 2 OTs
The Heidelberg men’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 double-overtime match against Grove City on Saturday.
Grove City had the lead late into the second half, but The ‘Berg sent it into overtime on Joey Tallarico’s 40-yard shot with one second left in regulation.
The score remained tied through the first overtime period, but Dale Reese scored two minutes into the second overtime for Grove City.
Goalkeeper Jake Kress tallied seven saves for The ‘Berg.
