Senecas fall to Pirates in three

Perkins made quick work of Calvert Saturday as the Pirates swept the Senecas 25-20, 25-16, 25-16.

Kennedy Smith collected 14 assists and 12 digs for Calvert, while Lexie White tacked on 12 kills, a pair of aces and nine digs, Lila Gahring had five kills and five digs, Mallary Nielsen smacked four kills, Sophie Burtis dished 11 assists and made three digs, Sidney Felter made 15 digs and Shelby Hemminger finished with nine digs.

TC goes 3-0 at quad

TOLEDO – Emily Davis recorded 31 kills, eight aces and four digs for Columbian Saturday as the Tornadoes beat Defiance 28-26, 19-25, 25-23, Toledo Bowsher 25-12, 25-7 and Arbor Prep 25-19, 22-25, 25-13 in a quad-match at Bowsher.

Macey Allen added 16 kills, eight aces and 12 digs for TC (7-11), while Niki Cole collected 12 kills, 30 assists and seven digs, Hunter Breidenbach dished 19 assists and made six digs and Emily Bogard registered seven kills, two blocks, a pair of digs and three aces.

Shayna Schwartz made 25 digs, Amara Solomon added five kills and a block, Tyler Ward made seven digs, Anna Latona recorded a kill and a pair of digs and Chase Schank finished with a pair of digs.

Golden Spike Tourney

HOLLAND – Despite 26 kills from Payton Vogel, Bellevue went just 1-2 at the Golden Spike Tournament at Springfield High School Saturday. The Lady Red fell to Clyde 25-10, 25-11 and Archbold 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, and beat Toledo Start 25-12, 25-18.

Morgan Hicks added 12 kills and five aces for Bellevue, while Allison Dendinger tallied nine kills and a pair of aces, Sydni Rodriguez served up four aces, Molly Bullion collected 53 assists and 12 digs, Sophia Pressler made 16 digs, Maycie Buckner had 15 digs and Abbey Yates ended with 12 digs.

Mohawks notch 4th win

VANLUE – Peighton Troike and Hailee Burns combined for 18 kills for St. Wendelin as the Mohawks swept Vanlue 25-16, 25-19, 25-13 in non-league play.

Burns tacked on three aces and eight digs, while Troike had four blocks.

Sophia Volpe tallied four aces and six digs, Sydney Johnson served three aces, Hannah Kelbley dished 12 assists and made six digs and Hannah Burns had 10 assists and seven digs.

The Mohawks are 4-13.

Daughenbaugh sets

up win for Rams

UPPER SANDUSKY – Upper Sandusky raced out to a 4-0 halftime lead and never looked back Saturday as the Rams downed Mansfield Senior 6-0.

Trudy Daughenbaugh dished out four assists for the Rams, while Megan Hensel had the other.

Sierra Carey netted two goals and Alivia Oney, Grace Miller, Maddison Stansbery and Hensel all scored one.

Upper Sandusky (7-2-1) led in shots on goal (14-6), but Mansfield Senior (3-6) had more corner kicks (3-1). Faith Owens made eight saves in net for the Tygers, while Ritchey made six saves for the Rams.

Kiah shuts down Rams

MANSFIELD – Drew Weeks netted three goals to help Mansfield Senior top Upper Sandusky 5-2 Saturday.

Despite the Rams out-shooting the Tygers 20-16, Mansfield Senior (3-8-1) prevailed as goalkeeper Shandon Kiah stopped 18 shots. Anson Hills made 11 saves in net for the Rams (2-7-1).

The Tygers got out to a 4-1 halftime advantage as Weeks scored twice and Indigo Dominguez and Jared Voelp scored goals. Weeks added his third at the 14:11 mark of the second half.

Cameron Brady scored on an assist from Jaidyn Thiel for Upper Sandusky’s lone goal in the first half, while Lupe Landaverde notched a goal in the second half.
