Fliers cruise by Lady Red

CLYDE – Clyde swept Bellevue Wednesday, 5-0.

Clyde improved to 16-1 while Bellevue drops to 4-10.

In singles play, Iga Makal defeated Chloe Brubaker 6-0, 6-0, while Melissa Laconis only dropped one set as she beat Skylar Strunk at second singles, 6-1, 6-0. Maddie St. Marie beat her third singles opponent, Wyanna Schalk, 6-0, 6-1.

The team of Addie Martin and Alayna Barrera defeated their first doubles opponents, Elizabeth Harper and Jena Weider, 6-0, 6-3. Alicia Klohn and Bree Dowling beat the team of Emily Becks and Mackenna Peacock, 6-3, 6-1.

Senecas nipped by Panthers

SANDUSKY – The Calvert Senecas fell just short to the Sandusky St. Mary Panthers Wednesday, 3-2.

At first singles, Laura Haley of Calvert defeated her Panther opponent, Gabby Holly, 6-0, 6-1.

The Senecas’ Devyn Warnement lost her singles match against Maggie Gyurle, 2-6, 6-2, 4-6. A forfeit was absorbed by Calvert at third singles.

The Calvert team of Marie Brodman and Bradlee Warnement swept their opponents, Mary Kromer and Miranda Braden, 6-0, 6-0. The Calvert second doubles team of Elayna Kapelka and Maria Goshe lost their doubles match, 6-1, 4-6, 2-6.
