JV BASEBALL: Upper Sandusky started the game with a 4-run inning and held on to beat Wynford 9-5. Jack Smith had three hits and scored three times for the Rams. Camden Spitler had two doubles tallying three RBIs and Keegan Gillifer had two hits and two RBIs. Tyler Clark added two hits. Zane Kitzler picked up the win for Upper Sandusky.

* Lakota started strong with a seven run first inning, but New Riegel did not give up and came back to win 9-8. Lakota’s Armando Palos went 4 for 5 at the plate and New Riegel’s Brandon Arbogast had three hits and three RBIs in the game.

JV SOFTBALL: Hopewell-Loudon started the final inning down 7-2, but rallied back to win 8-7 against Van Buren on a Kenzie Dueble single. The Chieftains had eight hits from nine batters in the inning. Hopewell-Loudon totaled five doubles and a home run from Nicole Colley. Becca Steinmetz got the win in the circle throwing six strikeouts.

JV TENNIS: Scott Clapp, Michael Miller and Alex Cauble won in Clyde’s match against Vermillion.

JUNIOR HIGH TRACK: Tiffin boy and girls each took second in a tri-meet Monday with Norwalk and Ontario. Norwalk won both meets. For Tiffin, Hannah Chance won the shot put and discus. Justin Stanley won the 110 hurdles for Tiffin’s boys and Kerrick Fanning added a win in the 800.

JUNIOR HIGH BOYS TRACK: Many meet records were broken at the Hopewell-Loudon Junior High Invitational. Mohawk’s Bryce Kirian not only won the 110 hurdles (17.9), but also broke the record in 200 hurdles (28.5). Hopewell-Loudon’s Sam Stickley won the 100 with a new meet record of 11.6. Lakota’s Jaden Rayford also jumped for a record length in the long jump (17-8 1/2). Other first place finishes went to Lakota’s Braden Schaser in the 1,600 (5:16.4), Old Fort’s Jordan Smith in the 400 (59.5), Calvert’s Luke Brickner throwing discus (106) and St. Wendelin’s Austin Goodman in pole vault (8-6). Tristan Molotla fanned seven and allowed just three earned runs in seven innings to get the win in the opener, and he singled, drove in four runs and scored twice. Alec Bower went 2 for 3 for H-L. Andrew Scaife also struck out seven in seven innings and gave up one earned run for H-L in the second game. PREP GIRLS TRACK: Columbian had many top finishes in its away meet against Willard Tuesday night to win 88-50. Columbian took the top three finishes in the 100 hurdles, 400, 200, long jump and pole vault. Sam Fry won the 100 hurdles (18.1), Anna Fletcher won the 400 (1:09), Alli Hepp won the 200 (28.4), Amanda Schwartz won the long jump (13-7 1/2) and Erika Shultz won the pole vault (7-6). Sydney Schank also won the 300 hurdles timing 58.3. Columbian’s 4×200 and the 4×100 relays also took first place. Timing 1:57, the 4×200 consisted of NaJiya Whitman, Schank, Hepp and Tieara LeGrant. Alli Hepp, Sami Hepp, Chelsea Hutchins and Julia Hohman ran the 4×100 in 1:01.

n Old Fort barely claimed second over Vanlue at the meet in Carey on Tuesday night. The Blue Devils had an overwhelming 156 1/2 points spearheading the meet. Old Fort finished with 38 points and Vanlue had 35 1/2. New Riegel also attended the meet. Carey had the top two finishers in seven events and won 13 of the 16. Amber Nash and Destiny DeFeo each won two events for the Blue Devils. JV TENNIS: Columbian’s Dustin Digby and Dylan Wertz won singles matches against Upper Sandusky. Will Jones and Jared Bour-Jones, and Eli Theis and Drew Koerper each won a doubles match.

JV BASEBALL: Tyler Eisenhower had a double and four RBIs, and Columbian toppled Perkins 18-6. Bryce Seibert had three hits for the Tornadoes, while Blake Steinmetz drove in a pair of runs. Graydon Bunting recorded the win, striking out four in four innings.

JUNIOR HIGH TRACK: Tiffin Middle School opened Monday victorious over Hopewell-Loudon, Lakota and New Riegel. Kerrick Fanning was a triple winner for the boys in the 1,600, 800 and long jump. On the girls side, there were two double winners: Hannah Chance in shot put and discus and Abby Bickford in the 1,600 and 800.

DARTBALL: The State Grange Open Class Dartball Tournament results are as followed: Middlebury (Knox County) won first, Salem (Wyandot County) placed second, York (Sandusky County) was third and Eden (Seneca County) finished fourth. High averages went to Bob Kessler with 591 and Bob Sherman with 563.

n Nine teams from four counties participated in the Tri-County Dartball Tournament and the results are as followed: St. John’s Lutheran (Huron County) won first and North Salem Lutheran (Wyandot County) placed second.
