Warriors boot conference-rival Bucyrus

BUCYRUS – Stacy Clouse had a double-double, Mya Morris belted 14 kills and two other Mohawk player each had 20 digs Thursday in a 25-7, 25-19, 25-16 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win over Bucyrus.

Clouse (2 digs) turned in 24 assists and 10 digs for the Warriors (4-0, 3-0 N10), Morris added four digs and Ali Konkle and MacKenzie Sowers both came up with 20 digs.

Konkle lined five kills and Sowers and Sheyanne Wilhelm both served four aces, with Wilhelm adding nine digs and three kills.

Allison Osborn chipped in eight digs, Chelsey Trusty handed out five assists and Hannah Kieffer tallied five digs and four kills.

Eagles defeat TC

Liberty-Benton took care of Columbian Thursday, 25-17, 25-17, 25-15.

Columbian slipped to 2-3.

Michaela Sharlow had nine digs for the Tornadoes, while Haley Sendelbach had eight kills and Hannah Reinbolt added four kills.

Tigers earn first N10 win

ATTICA – It took three tries, and a five-game match in the end, but Seneca East finally broke into the Northern 10 Athletic Conference win column.

Taylor Giminez and Hannah Martin each tallied a double-double Thursday as the Tigers outlasted Colonel Crawford 25-22, 25-20, 15-25, 25-23.

Giminez turned in 15 kills, 11 digs, seven blocks and three aces for the Tigers (3-3, 1-2 N10), and Martin registered 13 assists and 10 digs.

Mykayla Ruffing (4 kills, 2 blocks) backed them with 14 assists and seven aces, Aubrey Saylors smacked nine kills, Alexis Wise (2 aces) belted eight kills and Amber Hescht turned in 18 digs and four aces.

Rams win in four

NEW WASHINGTON – Upper Sandusky turned back Northern 10 Athletic Conference foe Buckeye Central 25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 25-22 Thursday.

Emily Weithman led the Bucks (2-1, 2-1 N10) in the loss with 43 assists and six aces.

Jenna Karl added 14 digs and 12 kills, Jenna Delarber belted 12 kills and five blocks and Aleesha Siesel came up with 12 digs.

Blue Devils break in N10 win column

CAREY – Carey got 17 kills, seven blocks and 12 digs from Shelby Kin, and the Blue Devils scored their first Northern 10 Athletic Conference victory by beating Wynford 25-16, 25-21, 22-25, 25-15.

“It was kind of nice to get that done after a tough stretch of games to start the conference with,” Carey coach Eric Vackert said after his squad improved to 4-2, 1-2 in the N10.

Hannah Zimmerman registered 12 digs and six kills for Carey, while Claire Allison had 10 digs to go with two aces. Sydney Wentling picked up six blocks and dished out 35 assists, while Sydney Kin added six blocks and 12 kills. Adrienne Heckworth had 16 digs, while Joanna Worst had 14.

Wynford fell to 5-2, 2-1 in the N10.

SW takes league opener

OLD FORT – St. Wendelin battled past Old Fort in five games Thursday, taking a 26-24, 13-25, 19-25, 25-22, 16-14 triumph in the Sandusky River League opener for both teams.

Allison Adeslperger’s 36 assists and eight digs led the Stockaders (1-3, 0-1 SRL) in the loss.

Samantha Hartsel (2 blocks, 2 digs) belted 12 kills, Sara Bell (3 digs) lined nine and Morgan Kemenah and Kiely Taylor each hammered eight.

Jordan Magers chipped in 18 digs and four kills, Shelby Bilger came up with 27 digs and Peyton Miller had 13 digs and five aces.

Jackets drop St. Mary

NEW RIEGEL – New Riegel turned away Sandusky St. Mary 25-12, 25-18, 25-20 in the first Sandusky River League match for both teams.

Lindsay Bouillon tossed up 19 assists for the Blue Jackets (4-1, 1-0 SRL), Kara Scherger slammed 14 kills and four aces and Taylor Arbogast lined 12 kills.

Brianna Gillig backed them with 13 digs, four kills and four aces.
