IBL: The Adrian Pioneers and Ohio Travelers split a doubleheader Sunday in Adrian, with Adrian taking the opener 2-0 and the Travelers winning the second 6-5. Jacob Zeiter’s double and single led the Travelers in the first game. Corey Metroyer, Anthony Ragos and Erik Underwood each singled, and Scott Underwood had an RBI sac fly. Josh Weber suffered the loss. In the nightcap, the Travelers rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh with two outs to go up 6-3, then hung on from there to get Tiffin native Anthony Sims the win. The Pioneers threatened in the bottom of the frame, scoring twice and getting runners on second and third with no outs. However, Sims induced a line drive out to first and a pop up to third before walking the bases loaded. He then struck out the next batter to end the game. Scott Underwood and Dan Johnston both singled for the Travelers, Kenta Nishii singled in two runs in the seventh.
ST. WENDELIN: St. Wendelin will hold its fall OHSAA mandatory sports meeting for all student-athletes at 7 p.m. July 30 in the St Wendelin Parish Life Center. One parent for each student must attend. A coach’s meeting for each team will follow with a video and brief discussion.
GOLF: Matt Kraut leads the Clover Club Wednesday League at Clinton Heights with 20 points. Dan Roessner and Joe Blust follow closely with 18 1/2 points each. Jason Hoffbauer and Louie Brickner tied for the low gross with 38 each. Matt Kraut had the low net with a 20. Prizes went to Zach Fowler (closest in 2 No. 7), Joe Blust (closest to 150 marker No. 3, closest to pin No. 8, long putt No. 6) and Josh Predieri (long drive No. 2).
n Stephanie Miller had an eagle on the par-4 No. 12 in the Baumann Women’s Monday Night Scramble League at Clinton Heights.
n Bump’s Travel Retiree League was canceled Tuesday. The next outing is 9 a.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Hills near Upper Sandusky.
