ST. WENDELIN: St. Wendelin will hold its fall OHSAA mandatory sports meeting for all student-athletes at 7 p.m. July 30 in the St Wendelin Parish Life Center. One parent for each student must attend. A coach’s meeting for each team will follow with a video and brief discussion.

GOLF: Ron Brickner shot a 42 for low gross and Kevin Brickner had a 33 for the low net in the P.J. Brickhouse Golf League. Prizes went to Dennis Mack (closest to pin on No. 2) and Jim Conley (long putt on No. 9).

n In the AEC Gold League, the team of John Crumrine, Paul Fey and Joe Peer shot 36 for first. Ernie Price and Tome Rulkkie carded 38 for second, while Ken Zeop and Wade Burger took third with 40.

n In the start of the second half of the Amvets League, prizes were awarded to Lowell Hosler (long putt on No. 1), Brian Krauss (long putt on No. 9) and Bob Reinhart (closest to the pin on No. 6).

n Tim Ritzler and Mark Kontak lead the second-third of the K of C League with 15 1/2 points. Prizes went to Rick Smith (closest to pin on No. 11), Tim Gassner (closest in two on No. 16) and Daryl Elchert (long putt on No. 17).

n The team of Jim Ruess, Fred Smith, Angelo Vivino and Dick Hull shot 5-under Par to tie for first with Russ Eborg, Bernie Tiell, Frank Perna and Dave Seislove. n The Carey Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 16th annual Golf Outing at Lakeland Golf Course at 8 a.m. Sept. 6. Cost is $50 per person (lunch included) and will be a 4-person scramble. n The Fremont Batting Range will hold a fastpitch softball clinic for girls 8-12 years old Aug. 9 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Anderson Field in Fremont. The camp covers hitting, bunting, pitching, defense and baserunning instruction. Cost is $60 and includes a clinic T-shirt and five free batting tokens.
